About Qigong
Qigong (or alternatively chi gung, qi gong or chi kung) is an ancient form of gentle, rhythmic exercise and meditation accompanied with directed breathing techniques that help to cultivate one’s Qi, or vital energy system. Qi is the animating force of everything in existence and is an important part of nourishing yang sheng, or nourishing the life force and promoting longevity and strengthening immunity.
About the Class
Come explore these invigorating and nurturing Qigong basics that originate in Buddhist and Taoist traditions over 3,000 years old. Doctor Loop practices a non-dogmatic form called the Jin Jing Gong (Tendon and Channel Qigong), one of China’s alchemical life science traditions that he learned during his 6 year clinical doctorate program from his herbal teacher and mentor, Heiner Fruehauf, Phd, who is one of the major disciples of Wang Qingyui, the current lineage holder of the JinJing Gong. He also blends this meditation in movement with certain aspects of Tantra Classical Hatha Yoga from the lineage systems of Sri Vidya and his 3 yoga certifications.
